Mocking'U — say it, then take it back

The workshop

GREATER CAIRO — ELEVEN MACHINES

Cut and sewn in a workshop in Greater Cairo that runs eleven machines and takes work in hundreds, not thousands. We have not put its name on the internet yet, and that is our caution rather than theirs.

Why the name is missing

A workshop that takes work in hundreds is a workshop with eleven machines and a queue. Naming it publicly before the second run puts their queue at risk for our marketing, which is a bad trade for them. The name goes up when they tell us it helps them.

The run

120 pieces across three designs. That is a small enough number that a fault in the print is caught by a person looking at it rather than by a customer.

What we do not claim

We are not going to tell you the workshop is ethical because we have not audited it. What we can tell you is its size, its city, and how many machines are in the room, which is more than a certificate logo tells you.
