The red word
One word carries it. Pick the word the sentence turns on — a line with everything emphasised emphasises nothing, and a line that emphasises the wrong word is funnier than you meant.
The read
A person reads your line before a screen is cut. Not to soften it. To make sure the spacing survives at 250 millimetres and the joke survives at arm's length.
The price
